Cookie Policy
Last updated: April 25, 2026
This Cookie Policy explains how SpaceOdysseyHub ("we", "us", "our") uses cookies and similar tracking technologies when you visit spaceodysseyhub.com. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy, which describes the broader ways we collect and process personal data.
What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files that a website asks your browser to store on your device. They let a site remember your preferences, keep you signed in, and understand how visitors use the site over time. A first-party cookie is set by the site you are visiting (in our case, SpaceOdysseyHub). A third-party cookie is set by another domain — usually an embedded service such as an analytics provider, ad network, or video player — and may be used to track activity across multiple sites. We also use related browser storage mechanisms such as localStorage and sessionStorage, which behave similarly but are not technically cookies.
How We Use Cookies
We group the cookies and storage entries used on this site into four categories. The table below summarizes what each category does, the specific identifiers involved, and roughly how long they persist.
| Category | Purpose | Example Cookies | Retention |
|---|---|---|---|
| Strictly Necessary | Required for the site to function — remembering your cookie consent choice, securing form submissions, and maintaining basic session state. | soh_cookie_consent (localStorage), session tokens, CSRF tokens | Session or up to 1 year |
| Analytics & Performance | Help us understand how visitors find and use the site so we can improve content and performance. | _ga, _ga_* (Google Analytics 4); Vercel Analytics (cookieless, aggregate page views) | 13 months (GA4); session only (Vercel) |
| Advertising / Targeting | Personalize ads, frequency-cap repeated impressions, and measure ad performance for our advertising partners. | __gads, __gpi, IDE, NID (Google AdSense / DoubleClick) | 13–24 months |
| Functionality | Remember UI preferences such as locale, theme, and dismissed banners. | localStorage entries (no cookies set) — e.g. locale and consent preferences | Until you clear browser storage |
Strictly necessary entries are always active because the site cannot function without them. All other categories are gated behind your consent, which you give through the cookie banner shown on your first visit.
Third-Party Vendors
We rely on a small set of third-party providers to host the site, deliver ads, send newsletters, and process payments. Each of these vendors may set their own cookies or process limited personal data under their own privacy policies, linked below.

- Vercel Inc. — site hosting, deployment, and privacy-friendly Vercel Analytics (cookieless). Vercel Privacy Policy

- Gumroad, Inc. — embedded checkout for digital products. Gumroad Privacy Policy

Your Choices and How to Opt Out
On this site
When you first visit SpaceOdysseyHub, a cookie consent banner asks whether you want to Accept All cookies or use Essential Only. Choosing "Essential Only" disables analytics and advertising cookies for your browser. Your choice is stored in localStorage under the key soh_cookie_consentand persists across visits. To change your decision later, clear that key from your browser's storage and reload the page — the banner will reappear.
Browser settings
Every modern browser lets you view, block, or delete cookies. The instructions below are maintained by the browser vendors themselves:
Network-level opt-outs
Industry self-regulatory tools allow you to opt out of personalized advertising from many networks at once:
Google-specific controls
Because Google services power most of our advertising and analytics, Google provides dedicated opt-out controls:
- Google Ad Settings — manage personalized ads across Google services.
- Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on — prevent Google Analytics from collecting data about your visits.
Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
Do Not Track (DNT)is an older browser header that signaled a user's preference not to be tracked across sites. The DNT standard was never broadly adopted by the advertising industry and has since been deprecated or removed by most major browsers. Because DNT is no longer a meaningful opt-out signal, this site does not specifically respond to DNT headers.
Global Privacy Control (GPC) is the modern successor: a browser-level signal (sent both as the Sec-GPC: 1 HTTP header and as navigator.globalPrivacyControl === true) that tells websites you wish to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information. Under California's CPRA, GPC is recognized as a valid opt-out request.
This site automatically honors the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal. When your browser sends GPC=1 (e.g., Brave, Firefox with Privacy Badger, DuckDuckGo browser, or other privacy-focused browsers), we treat your visit as if you selected "Essential Only" on our cookie banner — analytics and advertising cookies will not be set. The banner will not appear because your preference is already known.
You can verify whether your browser is currently sending the GPC signal by visiting globalprivacycontrol.org, which provides a live detection page and a list of browsers and extensions that support the standard.
California Residents
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA) give you specific rights regarding your personal information, including the right to know, delete, correct, and opt out of the sale or sharing of personal data. For the full description of these rights and how to exercise them, see the California Privacy Rights section of our Privacy Policy.
Changes to This Cookie Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our technology, vendors, or applicable law. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, surface a notice on the site or send a note to newsletter subscribers. Continued use of SpaceOdysseyHub after an update means you accept the revised policy.
